American Families for Vaccines is made up of two closely related organizations:

• American Families for Vaccines (AFV) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on education, research, and public engagement. It allows us to inform the public, provide trusted resources, and strengthen community understanding of vaccines and public health.

• American Families for Vaccines Action Fund (AFVAF) is a 501(c)(4) organization focused on advocacy and lobbying. It allows us to directly support or oppose legislation and mobilize advocates to take action in the legislative process.

Because our mission spans both education and advocacy, some board members serve on both the AFV and AFVAF boards. This ensures continuity of vision and strategy across our organizations while also maintaining the legal and financial separation required by law.

Together, these two organizations allow us to both educate the public about the importance of vaccines and advocate for strong policies that protect health and fight disinformation.
