“Today’s announcement by Florida’s state Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo and Governor Ron Desantis that they plan to eliminate vaccine requirements in the state is yet another disappointing move to politicize proven science and put children’s health at risk,” said Northe Saunders, President of American Families for Vaccines. “Make no mistake about it, dropping vaccine requirements will make Florida’s kids less safe from vaccine preventable diseases, at a time when measles and whooping cough are surging. Florida parents need to seek the advice of their pediatricians and continue to protect their children through vaccines.”
